Polish BELC partner municipality, Minsk Mazowiecki tackles disinformation

The Europe Direct centres in Coimbra and Leiria held a Regional Open Day featuring two BELC members in Portugal, on 25 October 2023, to promote dialogue on European issues and regional resilience.

Local councillors, Susanne Reinhoffer from Gronau, Germany and Erik Kemp from Enschede, the Netherlands organised a "Europe Evening" for all residents in September 2023. The aim was to communicate and discuss the importance of the European Union at local level.

Numerous local BELC events took place in Malta on 13 September 2023, in the wake of the State of the European Union (SOTEU) speech of the European Commission President.

On 13 September 2023, the municipality of San Xoán de Río, Galicia (Spain), a BELC partner held the screening of the State of the Union (SOTEU) speech by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen that was followed by a roundtable discussion titled ‘Youth in the European Union’.
