Music and dance for Europe Day in Spain’s San Xoán de Río

On May 4th, Spanish BELC partner municipality San Xoán de Río celebrated Europe Day in advance with a special event that sold out all available tickets. The day featured Lucía Pérez, Spain's representative in Eurovision 2011, and offered a varied programme of activities for attendees.

The celebration began at noon with a choreography performed by the women of San Xoán de Río, showcasing local talent and kicking off the festivities. Later, a reception for Lucía Pérez was held at the town hall, where she was warmly welcomed by BELC local councilor, José Miguel Pérez and her journey to the famous European song contest was recognised.

The singer shared her experience in Eurovision and personal story of how she came to participate in the contest, as well as the repercussions of her involvement. After lunch, the celebration continued with a lively dance party hosted by a DJ, closing the day with music and fun for everyone present.
