Local media reports about German BELC member’s participation at the European Summit of Regions and Cities

The regional daily newspaper, Westfälische Nachrichten reported about the 10th European Summit of Regions and Cities that took place in March 2024, highlighting the participation of BELC member, Susanne Reinhoffer, local councillor of the German city of Gronau.

The publication mentioned the speeches given by Elio di Rupo, Minister President of the Belgian region of Wallonia, and Vasco Alves Cordeiro, President of the European Committee of the Regions that Ms Reinhoffer talked highly of.

She also explained that cities and regions shape Europe and the Summit not only marks the 30th anniversary of the European Committee of the Regions, but it is also the moment when local and regional leaders come together for the first time to discuss global challenges and create a vision for the future. The role of these regions and cities is key to strengthening democracy and addressing the challenges that affect people’s lives around the world.
