First regional meeting of EU Local Councillors in Lombardy

On 27 April in Milan, at the premises of ANCI Lombardia, the first regional meeting of EU Local Councillors took place, marking an important step in strengthening the network at regional level.

The meeting provided an opportunity for local councillors to engage directly with members of the European Committee of the Regions, representatives of the European Commission in Italy and coordinators of European networks. The exchange focused on how to enhance communication about European policies, initiatives and opportunities within local communities.

Participants discussed the crucial role of local authorities in bringing Europe closer to citizens, sharing experiences and best practices on how to improve outreach and engagement at grassroots level.

This event is the first of a series of regional meetings designed to support and connect more than 100 EU Local Councillors active across Lombardy, fostering collaboration and reinforcing their role as key actors in communicating Europe on the ground.
