EU Local Councillors in action

On 1 May 2024, Minsk Mazowiecki, a BELC partner city, celebrated the 20th anniversary of Poland joining the EU. To mark the occasion, the city, in cooperation with Europe Direct and local institutions, organized a "We are Europe" European picnic for residents.

First-time voters from secondary schools were in focus.

Under the auspices of the BELC network, Dimitrios Koukouvinos from the Ilion Municipality, close to Athens, Greece, organised two successful events on 22 April, 2024. The aim was to raise awareness of the upcoming European elections and mobilise citizens to exercise their right to vote.
